ProgressPAC, the pro-business political arm of the Business Council of Alabama, announced Thursday its endorsement of Matt Woods in the upcoming special election for Alabama State Senate District 5.

“Matt Woods is a proven leader with a clear vision for advancing Alabama’s economic future,” said ProgressPAC Chairman Gary Smith. “His dedication to creating jobs and supporting Alabama’s businesses makes him an ideal candidate for District 5. Matt’s commitment to pro-business policies will help create a stable, sustainable economic climate for employers and workers across the state.”

A current member of the Alabama House of Representatives, “Woods has consistently demonstrated his deep understanding of the challenges facing Alabama families, especially in terms of economic opportunity and education. He has a proven track record of supporting pro-jobs and pro-growth policies.

“Woods is a candidate who believes in collaboration and pragmatic solutions, working across party lines to ensure the needs of all Alabamians are addressed. His approach to governance and policy is grounded in his commitment to making Alabama a better place to live, work, and raise a family,” their release shared.

The race for Alabama State Senate District 5 is critical to shaping the future of the state, and BCA says they are confident that Woods will efficiently manage and represent the district’s best interests.

The special primary election will be held on Tuesday, March 11, with the general election to follow on June 24.
