The Alabama Department of Transportation has launched an updated version of its ALGO Traffic app and website. It offers new features to improve user experience and help drivers avoid congestion while traveling. The enhanced platform now includes real-time weather data and Alabama Service Assistance Patrol, ASAP, coverage details.

Some key updates include:

Animated Radar Layer for Weather Conditions

The ALGO Traffic map now provides an animated radar layer to display current and forecasted precipitation conditions. This feature allows drivers to anticipate weather patterns that may affect their travel.

Expanded Alabama Service Assistance Patrol (ASAP) Coverage

ALGO Traffic now includes details on the ASAP coverage areas and service times. With this feature, motorists have easy access to roadside support when needed, enhancing overall road safety and responsiveness.

In response to user feedback, the ALGO Traffic web app now offers dark mode compatibility. This setting provides a more comfortable viewing experience, particularly in low-light conditions.

Improvements for Android and iOS Tablet Devices

The update includes advanced user interface improvements across Android and iOS to improve the user experience on tablet-style devices. These refinements streamline navigation and improve the visibility of critical traffic information.

“The latest ALGO Traffic update provides users with a more intuitive and informative experience,” says Allison Green, Drive Safe Alabama Coordinator. “New features like the animated radar layer and expanded ASAP coverage allow drivers to plan around weather conditions and access roadside support when they need it.”

Motorists can visit ALGOtraffic.com or download the ALGO Traffic app to learn more about these updates and to subscribe to personalized traveler alerts.
