Manufacture Alabama has announced the launch of Manufacturing Madness: The Coolest Thing Made in Alabama, a statewide competition designed to showcase and celebrate the state’s manufacturing industry and its diverse range of products.
“Alabama’s manufacturers produce some of the most innovative, high-quality products in the world, driving our state’s economy and shaping the future for generations to come,” said Jon Barganier, President and CEO of Manufacture Alabama.
“Manufacturing Madness is a chance to highlight the incredible people, companies, and products that make our state a national leader, and we’re excited to celebrate the craftsmanship and ingenuity that helps to define Alabama. We look forward to seeing which product earns the title of ‘The Coolest Thing Made in Alabama’ this year!” the release stated.
The competition follows an online, bracket-style format where the public will vote to determine which Alabama-made product earns the top title.
Key Dates and Timeline:
Monday, Feb. 17 – Nominations can be submitted here. Any product manufactured in Alabama is eligible for submission.
- Friday, March 7 – Nomination period closes at 11:59 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 11 – Friday, March 14 – Public voting begins to determine the top 16 products, with voting closing at 11:59 p.m. CT on March 14.
- Tuesday, March 18 – The Top 16 contenders are announced and placed into the bracket competition.
- Tuesday, March 18 – Friday, March 21 – First round of voting narrows the field to the Top 8 products.
- Tuesday, March 25 – The Top 8 contenders are announced and advance to the next bracket round.
- Tuesday, March 25 – Friday, March 28 – Second round of voting determines the Top 4 products.
- Tuesday, April 1 – The Top 4 finalists are announced. Tuesday, April 1 – Friday, April 4 – Final round of voting determines the winner.
The winner will be announced in April during a special recognition ceremony, where state leaders and industry representatives will honor the 2025 champion alongside the four finalists.
Alabama is home to over 4,000 manufacturing facilities, playing a critical role in the state’s economy while creating career opportunities that enhance the quality of life for many Alabamians. The competition aims to bring public recognition to the innovative products developed across the state and the industries that make them possible.
Manufacture Alabama is the only trade association in the state dedicated exclusively to the interests of manufacturers and their partner industries, representing companies of all sizes, from major international corporations to small, family-owned businesses.
