The 68th annual SLE PRCA Rodeo returns to Montgomery

The Southeastern Livestock Exposition’s 68th annual SLE PRCA Rodeo is saddling up for another thrilling year, bringing the best in professional rodeo to Central Alabama from March 14-16, 2025. As one of the Southeast’s most revered PRCA events, this year’s rodeo promises more excitement, entertainment, and opportunities to support youth in agriculture than ever before.

About SLE Rodeo 2025: The 68th annual SLE Rodeo, ranked within the top ten percent of over 700 PRCA-sanctioned events, will showcase world-champion ProRodeo athletes competing in classic rodeo events such as bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, and team roping, and more. SLE Rodeo Kickoff Parade: Gallop to Dexter Avenue in Downtown Montgomery for the annual SLE Rodeo Kickoff Parade, scheduled for Friday, March 14 at 12 p.m.

Children’s Events All Weekend (many of which are FREE to attend!): The SLE Rodeo is packed with activities designed especially for kids! Young rodeo fans can enter to complete in the ever-popular Mutton Bust’n competition, where children ages 4-8 get to try their hand at riding sheep, as well as the Calf Scramble, where children ages 12-14 compete for a cash prize where they race to pull one of three flags from the tail of a calf. Additional events include the Stick Horse Rodeo before each performance, and the chance to meet and take photos with rodeo clowns and cowboys at the Western Festival on Saturday, March 15 at 9 a.m. It’s a magical experience for children of all ages, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

SLE Rodeo 2025 Cowboy Church: Join with Rev. Brad McClain, who will lead in worship at the SLE 2025 Cowboy Church. This event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome to join in the faith, fellowship and fun! Cowboy Church is at 10 a.m. in the Teague Arena on Sunday, March 16. Alabama Select Horse Sale – sponsored by Trustmark: Hosted by the Southeastern Livestock Exposition and sponsored by Trustmark, the Alabama Select Horse Sale will take place March 7-8, 2025, at the Teague Arena located at the historic Garrett Coliseum grounds in Montgomery, Alabama. The event begins on March 7 with dinner and a consignor meet and greet. On March 8, the sale horse preview will take place in the morning, with the Alabama Select Horse Sale starting at 11 a.m. Horse consignments are now open! The deadline to consign is February 9, 2025. 2025 Specialty Act: Jessica Blair Fowlkes – 2x NFR Specialty Act Performer, NFR Open Specialty Act Performer, and top 5 Dress Act of the Year Nominee:  Jessica is known to dazzle the crowd as she stands with one foot on each horse and jumps through fire, and she will also leave you mesmerized as she turns loose of her horses and performs her liberty act – a moment in time where three become one as they dance together in the arena. In recent years, she’s been selected to perform at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, and the SLE are so proud to welcome her to Montgomery for the greatest show on dirt!

2025 Rodeo Clown and Barrelman: Dusty Myers – 5x Top 5 NFR Barrelman, 2023 Top 5 Comedy Act of the Year and Clown/Barrelman of the Year, 2024 Top 5 Clown/Barrelman of the Year: Inspired by some of rodeo’s greatest entertainers, everything from Dusty’s grease paint to his baggies pay homage to the legacy of the traditional rodeo clown. A second-generation rodeo clown with more than 20 years of professional rodeo experience, Dusty wins over audiences of all ages with big acts, big props, and even bigger character! Defying the sometimes-heavy realities of life and modern influences, Dusty lets his inner-child run loose in the arena bringing energy and mischief to every rodeo performance. “For two hours, I just want everyone to enjoy feeling like a kid again,” Dusty said.
