Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed appoints Jerime Reid as chief of staff

Previously serving as COO, Reid was responsible for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across city departments.

After a successful tenure, Mayor Steven L. Reed has removed the interim title and named Jerime Reid as his Chief of Staff for the City of Montgomery.

“I am excited to remove the interim tag as Jerime transitions to our full-time Chief of Staff,” said Mayor Steven L. Reed. “Jerime’s extensive leadership has already positively impacted our city in his role as COO, and we are thrilled to see the momentum continue with him as Chief of Staff.”

Previously serving as the Chief Operating Officer for the City of Montgomery, Reid was responsible for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across city departments.

Reid also utilized data-driven decision-making to improve resident services. He holds extensive leadership experience as a senior executive from his service in the United States Air Force.

Reid’s service includes time as Director of Personnel at Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base and Director of Operations for the HQ Air Force Reserve Office Training Corps.

He is a graduate of the Air War College, the University of Texas, and Air Command and Staff College. Reid also has a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

Reid’s appointment reflects Mayor Reed’s commitment to fostering a responsive, efficient, and effective city government, leveraging Reid’s military leadership experience and previous contributions as COO to serve the Montgomery community.
