The Alabama Power Foundation presented a $125,000 donation to Stillman College during a Community Giving Reception that honored the institution’s contributions to the West Alabama community. Held on campus, the event attracted a variety of supporters, including community leaders, Alabama Power representatives, college officials, students, alumni, and other advocates for Stillman College.

The evening highlighted the collective impact of partnerships that bolster Stillman College’s mission, as well as Alabama Power Foundation’s commitment to fostering educational growth, community development, and innovation within the state.

“We are honored to support Stillman College in its mission to provide exceptional education and community service,” said Alabama Power Western Division Vice President Jill Stork. “This donation reflects our belief in the power of education to transform lives and communities. At Alabama Power, supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) is a key initiative, and we are dedicated to helping these institutions continue to thrive and make a profound impact.”

The reception further underscored the collaborative spirit between Stillman and other contributing partners. Joining Alabama Power Foundation were Google, Wells Fargo, Dr. Charles and Susan Stillman—descendants of Stillman College founder Dr. Charles Allen Stillman—and the college’s board of trustees. Their combined efforts resulted in a total of $3.26 million raised for Stillman’s educational and community enrichment initiatives.

Stillman College President Dr. Yolanda Page expressed gratitude for the support, noting that Alabama Power’s involvement extends beyond financial contributions. “Alabama Power has taken the lead as an industry partner supporting our college, providing guidance, volunteers, and opportunities to engage our students,” Dr. Page remarked. “Their support is vital in helping us continue our mission to educate and empower the next generation of leaders.”

As a longstanding fixture in the West Alabama community, Stillman College has fostered an environment of academic excellence and personal growth. The funds will further enhance programs and resources for students, contributing to their success and professional development.

The event also marked the launch of Stillman College’s “30 Days of Giving” campaign, an online fundraising initiative running through December 3, aimed at expanding the college’s reach and ensuring future opportunities for its students.
