Physicians in Alabama now have a more convenient way to continue their medical education.
The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners is offering several new online Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses, now available to licensed physicians in the state. These courses, designed to enhance the quality of care provided to patients, reflect the Board’s ongoing commitment to supporting Alabama’s medical professionals.
“The introduction of these online CME courses marks a significant step forward in our mission to enhance the quality of healthcare in Alabama,” said William M. Perkins, Executive Director of the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners. “By providing accessible, high-quality educational resources, we empower physicians to continue delivering exceptional care to their patients.”
The initial course offerings include:
“Understanding Collaborative Practice in Alabama”: This course provides an in-depth exploration of the collaborative practice framework, equipping physicians with the knowledge to effectively partner with other healthcare professionals.
“Supervisory Practice in Alabama – Roles & Responsibilities”: A comprehensive guide to the critical roles and responsibilities of physicians in supervisory practice with physician assistants, ensuring quality and excellence in the provision of medical services.
“Supervisory Practice in Alabama – The Role of an Anesthesiologist Assistant and Supervising Anesthesiologist”: Focused on the specific dynamics of anesthesiology, this course underscores the importance of teamwork and the pivotal role of supervision in delivering safe and effective care.
These courses are now available through the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners’ website. Additional CME courses are being developed and will be offered in the future.
