The Montgomery County Commission has approved a $149,167,050 budget for fiscal year 2025, focused on economic development, public safety and infrastructure investments.
The budget includes $54 million for general government operations, $51 million for public safety and $18 million for roads and highways.
“This budget reflects our commitment to securing Montgomery County’s future through smart investments in safety, infrastructure and community services,” said Montgomery County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “By focusing on these areas, we are building a stronger, more resilient county while maintaining fiscal responsibility.”
The budget includes a pay increase for all county employees, significant changes to the Public Safety and Corrections pay plans and funding for employee merit increases.
The budget allocates more than $1.6 million to the Construction Programs Fund for various improvements to essential county facilities, including $85,000 for park improvements and $440,000 for fuel equipment upgrades, supporting the county’s efforts to maintain high operational standards.
The public safety budget includes $900,000 for law enforcement vehicles and equipment, ensuring the Sheriff’s Office has the necessary resources to maintain safety and operational effectiveness.
Additional highlights include $7.7 million for recreation department activities, funding for Montgomery City County Library System, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and other cultural and recreational activities.
