Alabama State Employees Association Executive Director Mac McArthur announced his retirement in the association’s latest edition of the ASEA Insider magazine. Effective November 1, McArthur steps down from the helm of ASEA after serving as Executive Director for 26 years. Under McArthur’s leadership, ASEA had unprecedented growth in membership and significant legislative victories.

Cameron Espy was named as the new Executive Director after a unanimous vote by the ASEA Board of Directors. Espy has been with the association for twenty-two years, most recently serving as the Assistant Director. During her tenure, Espy has handled the marketing, public relations and events for ASEA.

“I am thrilled to represent active and retired state employees,” says Espy. “I intend to continue to build upon Mac McArthur’s vision for ASEA and lead the association to its next chapter. My goal will continue to be to promote and protect active and retired state employees at the Alabama Legislature, across state government, and throughout the State of Alabama.”
