On August 9-11, 2024, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Alabama State Office will partner with Rollin To the Polls to host the Catalyst for Change Divine Nine Convening at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel. This event emphasizes social action and community empowerment, core principles of the nine historically Black sororities and fraternities.
Participants can look forward to a range of informative workshops covering voter rights restoration, community mobilization, engaging the youth vote, election protection training, poll monitoring training, and more. In addition, breakout and panel sessions will explore new tools, resources, and critical information impacting Black communities this voting cycle.
The convening, including meals, is free to all Divine Nine members residing in Alabama. Lodging will be provided for members living more than 50 miles from Montgomery.
