The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) announced on Friday its endorsement of Caroleene Dobson for Alabama Congressional District 2 which now covers Montgomery, Macon, Russell, Bullock, Barbour, Troy, Crenshaw, Butler, Conecuh, Monroe, and Washington Counties and portions of Clarke and Mobile Counties.
Dobson was born and raised in the heart of the timber basket on her family’s fifth-generation cattle farm in Beatrice, Alabama. Being timberland owners, she and her family are long-time members of AFA and are active in the forest industry. Dobson currently serves on the Alabama Forestry Commission.
Dobson earned her bachelor’s degree in history and literature from Harvard University. She earned her juris doctorate from Baylor Law School where she graduated magna cum laude and was the editor of the Baylor Law Review. Dobson currently practices real estate law at the Maynard Nexsen law firm where her clients include private landowners and small business owners.
“As a native from the heart of Alabama’s pine forests and a proud member of the Alabama Forestry Commission, I’ve witnessed the vital role the timber industry plays in Alabama’s economy and recognize the important role that the Alabama Forestry Association plays in strengthening the livelihood of the forest industry across the state,” said Dobson. “I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Alabama Forestry Association. In Congress, I will stand up for our property owners and defend our families, farms, and Christian faith.”
Dobson and her husband, Bobby, have two daughters, Philippa and Lydia. She and her family reside in the Second Congressional District.
“Caroleene has shown her passion to fight for Alabama, specifically the forest industry, and AFA is proud to endorse her for Congressional District 2,” said AFA President and CEO Chris Isaacson. “With Caroleene growing up in the timber industry, she understands the struggles landowners, forest product manufacturers and loggers face day-in and day-out. AFA knows she will represent the best interest of the future of District 2 and she will help Alabama families and businesses thrive.”
Dobson is seeking election to Congressional District 2 in the Republican Runoff Election on April 16, 2024.
