The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles is scheduled to hold 71 parole hearings and 29 pardon hearings this week, February 13-15.

Last week, February 6-8, the board considered 65 applications for parole and 29 for pardons. According to the hearing minutes uploaded so far from February 6 and 7, nine individuals were granted parole. As for the pardons, 19 hearings were held with the board granting pardons to 10 individuals.

The amount of individuals already granted parole this month has nearly surpassed the total parolees for February 2023. According to monthly statistical data, last year the board only granted 16 paroles during the entire month of 2023. According to the public hearing minutes, 12 individuals have been approved for paroles after only 4 meetings being held this month.
