Board schedules 76 parole hearings, 29 pardon hearings

This week, the Alabama Board of Pardons and Parole will consider 105 cases.

This week the Alabama Board of Pardons and Parole will consider 105 cases of individuals seeking to be pardoned or paroled.

Of the 105 individuals 76 are seeking to obtain parole and 29 are seeking to be pardoned. During the previous week of January 23-25, the board scheduled to hear a total of 112 applicants with 83 people seeking parole and 29 looking to be pardoned.

So far hearing minutes have been recorded and published for January 23-24. On the 23rd the board held 29 parole hearing and granted only 2 while holding 10 pardon hearings and granting 8. For the 24th, the board held 26 parole hearings but only granted 4 and granted 5 pardons out of 9 hearings.
