Ainsworth, Reed, BCA president and legislators to talk Workforce Transformation Plan

The bipartisan commission is now preparing legislation to transform the state’s workforce initiatives.

Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth, Senate Pro-Tem Greg Reed, R-Jasper, Rep. Danny Garrett, R-Trussville, Rep. Kelvin Lawrence, D-Hayneville, and Business Council of Alabama (BCA) President and CEO Helena Duncan and other state leaders will hold a news conference today, Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. to discuss plans for legislation to make Alabama’s workforce development system one of the nation’s best. 

The Legislature created the Lieutenant Governor’s Commission on 21st Century Workforce in 2019 to develop a statewide workforce development plan. The bipartisan commission is now preparing legislation to transform the state’s workforce initiatives.

The 2024 legislative session begins Feb. 6.
