Rep. Sewell continuing “Congress in Your Community Tour” with new stops

Sewell will be hosting town halls in Tuscaloosa, Hale, Choctaw, and Clarke Counties.

Today, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, AL-07, is continuing her “Congress in Your Community” tour, hosting town halls in Tuscaloosa, Hale, Choctaw, and Clarke Counties. Rep. Sewell announced major funding that she helped secure for communities in West Alabama including $7.9 million for Stillman College, $511,601 for storm shelters in Hale County, and $1,000,000 for the Thomasville Regional Medical Center. Every year, Rep. Sewell hosts a series of town halls in each of the 14 counties that make up Alabama’s 7th Congressional District. 

Today, November 20, at 10:30 a.m., Rep. Sewell will host a Tuscaloosa County Town Hall at Stillman College in the Stinson Math and Science Auditorium. Media are invited to join Rep. Sewell and Stillman College President Yolanda Page for a press availability at 10 a.m. at The Houston H. Harte Center where Sewell will announce $7.9 million that she helped secure from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the construction of a new research facility on the campus Stillman College.

Today at 1:30 p.m., Rep. Sewell will host a Hale County Town Hall at Greensboro City Hall. Media are invited to join Rep. Sewell, Greensboro Mayor Washington, State and Local Emergency Medical Agency Representatives, and local elected officials for a press availability at 1 p.m. outside the Hale County Board of Education building where Sewell will announce more than $500,000 that she secured for the Alabama Emergency Management Agency for the construction of six storm shelters in Hale County. This funding is a part of the $42.8 million that Sewell secured in the Fiscal Year 2023 federal government funding package for local projects in the 7th Congressional District.
