Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, AL-07, reminded graduating seniors in Alabama’s 7th Congressional District that they have four days left to apply for a nomination to a United States military service academy.
“There is no greater act of patriotism than choosing to serve as part of our nation’s armed services, and I encourage all graduating seniors to consider pursuing an education at one of our United States military service academies,” continued Sewell. “Attending a military service academy will not only jumpstart your career in the military, but it will also offer an invaluable opportunity to develop your leadership and interpersonal skills.”
“Making these appointments is one of my most satisfying duties as a Member of Congress,” continued Sewell. “Be sure to submit your application by November 18th!”
To be considered for an appointment to a military service academy, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements established by law and be legally domiciled within the boundaries of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District. Students must complete a nomination application, which can be found on Rep. Sewell’s website here.
Submissions must be received by Rep. Sewell’s Birmingham office by U.S. mail and postmarked no later than Saturday, November 18, 2023. Applications should be mailed to:
Office of Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell, Attn: Academy Nominations
Two 20th Street North, Suite 1130, Birmingham, AL 35203
