On April 5, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Alabama, will begin her annual “Congress in Your Community” Tour with town halls in Sumter and Marengo Counties. The tour consists of a series of town halls held in each of the 14 counties within her district, where constituents can voice their concerns and receive updates on congressional affairs.
At noon, after touring the areas affected by the Jan. 12 storm in Sumter County, Sewell will host a town hall at the Sumter County Courthouse to provide an update on recent developments regarding disaster relief and recovery efforts.
Following this, at 2:30 p.m., Sewell will hold another town hall at the Whitfield Regional Hospital in Marengo County. She is expected to announce significant federal funding she secured for the Tombigbee Healthcare Authority in Demopolis as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 federal government funding package.
The Sumter County town hall will be held at the Sumter County Courthouse located at 115 Franklin St. Livingston, AL 35470. Meanwhile, the Marengo County Town Hall will take place at the Whitfield Regional Hospital – Classroom, 105 Highway 80 East, Demopolis, AL 36732.
