Governor Kay Ivey today announced Will Califf as campaign manager for her re-election campaign for governor, as well as other key staff hires.
“I am proud to have Will lead Team Ivey. He has worked to get conservatives elected from the local level to the presidential level, and I know that he will once again be doing that for us here in Alabama,” said Governor Ivey. “Will knows and loves Alabama, and I am just plum excited to have him on our team. We already have great folks assembled, and we are ready to hit the ground running.”
Most recently, Califf held roles here in Alabama, serving in the Attorney General’s Office and earlier in the Office of Alabama Senate President Pro Tempore. Prior to that, Califf had wide-ranging political experience, including the 2012 Presidential Race. A graduate of The University of Alabama, Califf’s early political work began here in Alabama when he was Victory Field Director for the Alabama Republican Party.
“Governor Ivey has done an outstanding job in office, from delivering the highest employment rate in Alabama history, to demanding accountability in state government,” said Califf. “I look forward to working with her and the entire team as we strive everyday to earn the support of Alabama voters and send Governor Ivey back to Montgomery, so she can continue to make Alabama one of the top places in the country to work and live.”
Anne-Allen Welden is serving as finance director. She also served in that capacity during Governor Ivey’s 2018 election. Jonathan Hester will assume the role of deputy campaign manager. He most recently served as a policy advisor to the governor. As Governor Ivey gears up for the 2022 cycle, she is again utilizing Something Else Strategies out of Dothan, Alabama for the media strategy and the same consulting group as her 2018 election.
Governor Ivey maintains her commitment to the people of this state that under her leadership, Alabama’s government will always reflect the values of Alabamians, with life, liberty, freedom and opportunity for every single corner. She will continue assembling a strong team that will help her fight for Alabama’s future.
