Former President Donald Trump on Saturday was in rural Ohio for a campaign rally. Alabama Republicans were on hand to discuss Trump’s return to the state of Alabama in the near future.

“I had the good fortune along with former State Senator Shadrack McGill to participate in President Donald J Trump’s first campaign rally since he left the White House,” said Alabama Republican Executive Committee member former state Rep. Perry Hooper Jr., R-Montgomery.

Hooper said that discussions are underway about Trump coming to Alabama for a rally.

“On behalf of Chairman John Wahl and the Alabama Republican Party we were able to talk to the President and his staff about staging a rally in Alabama in the upcoming months,” Hooper said. “People come to me constantly wanting to know when the President is coming back to our state. Alabama loves the President, and the President loves Alabama. I know such a rally would garner national attention because of the enthusiasm it would generate for the President and his America First policies.”

The rally was held in support of former Trump advisor Max Miller. Miller is a Republican primary challenger to Congressman Anthony Gonzalez, R-Ohio. Gonzales was one of a handful of Republicans who voted to impeach the president over the Jan. 6 riots in Washington.

“People camped out at the night before in the parking lot at the Wellington Ohio Fair Grounds,” Hooper said. “Thousands were turned away as seating capacity was reached hours before the rally began. Hundreds of thousands watched the live stream.”

“Joe Biden is destroying our nation right before our very own eyes,” Trump told the crowd. “After just five months the Biden administration is already a complete and total catastrophe. I told you. Crime is surging. Murders are soaring. Police departments are being gutted. Illegal aliens are overrunning their borders. Nobody’s ever seen anything like it. Our poor borders. They were so perfect. They were so good. Drug cartels and human traffickers are back in business like they’ve never been before. Gas prices are spiking, inflation is skyrocketing, and China, Russia, and Iran are humiliating our country.”
