Alabama Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth, R-Alabama, on Thursday announced that U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Alabama, has endorsed the lieutenant governor’s 2022 re-election bid.
Tuberville said: “I’ve spent most of my life recruiting. When you run across leadership it stands out, and I’ve seen firsthand that’s especially true in the political arena. Alabama is a gritty, hardworking, conservative state that puts God and family first.
“I’m proud to endorse Will Ainsworth for Lt. Governor as the leader that reflects the work ethic and values of the great state of Alabama!”
The momentum is building for Ainsworth’s campaign. After launching at a packed event featuring Gov. Kay Ivey in Ainsworth’s home Marshall County on June 4, the campaign has been endorsed in recent days by the Alabama Forestry Association and the Professional Fire Fighters Association of Alabama.
“I am proud to have Senator Tuberville’s endorsement as I seek a second term as lieutenant governor to continue building a 21st century Alabama in which our people can earn a good living at a high-paying job and raise their families in safe, strong communities,” Ainsworth said. “I’m focused on taking our Christian conservative values to Montgomery every day, ensuring we preserve and better the Alabama we all know and love for future generations to enjoy.”
Elected as lieutenant governor in 2018, Ainsworth has been a strong conservative reformer and staunch advocate for jobs and high-quality public education programs. He chairs the Military Stability Commission and has helped pass legislation to make Alabama the most military- and veteran-friendly state in the country.
Ainsworth is also the national chair of the Aerospace States Association and is excited to see Space Command Headquarters coming to Alabama. He launched an Aerospace Internship program, as well as an Aerospace Supplier program.
Additionally, Ainsworth chairs the Small Business Commission and is committed to lower taxes, slashing regulations, and giving small businesses fair opportunities to compete and prosper. Ainsworth also has a passion for workforce development and has already secured funding in our K-12 schools as well as community colleges with a goal to make Alabama the nation’s workforce engine.
