The daughter of State Representative Allen Treadaway, R-Morris, was killed in an early Sunday morning two-vehicle accident.

According to media reports, 31-year-old Kelsey Treadaway was traveling on I-65 near Good Hope, Alabama, when her vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle at approximately 3:00 a.m.  The accident is still under investigation.

Treadaway was the head volleyball coach at Mortimer Jordan High School.

“We mourn with the Treadaway family in the passing of our beloved PE teacher and [volleyball] coach, Kelsey Treadaway,” the high school said on Twitter. “Please pray for our students, faculty, admins, and community as we grieve this sudden loss.”

Many state government officials also reacted to the tragedy.

“Was sorry to hear of the sudden passing of the daughter of Rep. Allen Treadaway,” Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said. “My thoughts & prayers are with their family, friends and the high school students she taught. I know she will be greatly missed.”

Prayers to Allen and Susan and the rest of their family for God to wrap his loving arms around them…”
