Monday, the Judge Roy Moore for U.S. Senate campaign announced that Alabama State Sen. Bill Hightower, R-Mobile, has endorsed Moore for the United States Senate.

“Judge Roy Moore is a principled man who stands up for religious liberty and defends the Constitution,” Hightower said. “It is a privilege to endorse his candidacy for the U.S. Senate.”

“As someone who represents Alabama’s coastline, I well understand the pivotal role that defense industry companies like Austal play in our state,” Hightower continued. “As a veteran, Judge Moore appreciates the important work that defense companies do in providing jobs for Alabama’s workers and in keeping our nation safe. He will be a strong ambassador in Washington for Alabama’s values, workers, and companies.”

Moore thanked Hightower for his endorsement.

“Bill Hightower has stood strong for conservative principles in the Alabama Legislature, and I appreciate his support,” Moore said. “Momentum is building every day for this campaign, as Alabamians from all walks of life embrace our message of strengthening the military, defending religious liberty, and ending the insider cronyism in Washington between career politicians and well-heeled lobbyists.”

Hightower is a candidate for governor in the 2018 Republican Primary.  He is a businessman and is considered as one of the most conservative members of the Alabama State Senate.  The Republican Primary for governor and other races will be on June 5, 2018.
