U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Selma, will hold her 2017 Veterans Resource Fair in Birmingham on Thursday.

“Meeting the needs of our veterans is one of my top priorities, and as a Representative of Alabama’s 7th District, I’m proud to offer a free opportunity for our veterans and military families to connect with the support they’ve earned,” Sewell said in a statement.

The 2017 Veterans Resource Fair is free and open to the public, although they request that you RSVP so that they can have an accurate count of how many people to anticipate.

The fair will be at 10:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. at the Birmingham Veteran Administration Medical Center in Birmingham.

“My Annual Veterans Resource Fair aims to connect veterans with jobs and training, help at federal agencies, and provide veterans with the opportunity to engage with their local community,” Sewell said. “You will have the opportunity to meet with over 25 resource groups and service officers. Also attending are local veterans and veteran advocacy groups. The event is free and open to the public, and we welcome all veterans, service members, families, and friends.”

Sewell represents Alabama’s 7th Congressional District.  Sewell is the first black woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in the history of the state of Alabama.
