Sen. Eugene Crum Foshee Sr., passed away at home on Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was 79 years old.
Foshee served for 35 years in the Alabama State legislature. After his retirement, he worked as a consultant in government relations.
Crum is survived by his wife, Cherle Estes Foshee,children and grandchildren, along with his brother and two sisters.
He was born December 13, 1937 in Red Level, Alabama. Crum served in the Alabama Legislature for 35 years. He was a dedicated senator who worked hard to represent his constituents. After retiring from the Senate, he worked as a consultant in government relations.
Crum never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face, and was polite, kind, and caring of everyone. He will be missed by his family and his many personal, business, and governmental friends.
The family wishes to thank all of the care providers for their dedicated service to Crum during his illness. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Michael Karst, to Dr. Harry Barnes, and to all of the staff at Montgomery Cancer Center; to caregivers Jennifer, Nicole, Brandy, Liz, and Melissa; and also a very special thanks to Pilots for Christ.
Pallbearers are Tommy Coleman, Alva Lambert, Tony Moore, Frank Brown, Hugh Wicks, and Larry Henley. A Celebration of Crum’s Life / Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22 from 5-7 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home in Montgomery. Visitation will be held at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home in Andalusia on Thursday, March 23 from 1-3 pm followed by graveside service at Long Branch Cemetery in Cohasset, Alabama.
