Presidential Debate Watch Parties Tonight

Monday, September 26, 2016, with the race essentially tied the two presidential candidates meet for the first debate. A surging Donald Trump faces former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at Hofstra University.

The Alabama Constitutional Conservatives, the Jefferson County Republican Party, and the Minority GOP are hosting a debate watch party at Vestavia Hills.

The covered dish supper begins at 7:00 and will be at 1401 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia. There will be a meeting of the Minority GOP prior to the event.

The Alabama Conservative Group wrote, “Thanks to the Jefferson County Republican Party for allowing us to use their facility for this event and thanks to WERC-FM for doing a live cast! Thanks also to Phillip Brown, Chairman of the Alabama Minority GOP for co-sponsoring this event.”

The Jefferson County Republican Party announced, “We’re excited to announce that News Radio 105.5 WERC will be joining us for our Presidential Debate Watch Party on Monday at our Vestavia Hills Headquarters. Come down and meet the crew from Birmingham’s Morning News with JT as they do a “pre-game” remote broadcast. Don’t forget to bring your favorite pot luck dish to share. Thanks to the ALConservative Group and Alabama Minority GOP – Birmingham Chapter for organizing.”

The Greater Birmingham Young Republicans will also have a debate watch party on Monday night. Theirs will be at Side bar in Birmingham’s Southside.

The first presidential debate will be moderated by Lester Holt of NBC. The debate itself will take place on Monday, September 26th and begins promptly at 8:00PM. This is the first time Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will face off.

Alabama Young Republicans Federation Chair Jackie Curtiss said, “We will be watching the debate in a private room with a large projection screen TV. There is plenty of room and all are welcome to attend whether you’re a Young Republican or not, so please invite your friends to join us.”

**We will have TVs with Monday Night Football on in the bar area**

Hillary Clinton has invited Trump critic, Mark Cuban, to be her guest on the front row of the debate. Donald Trump responded by inviting former President Bill Clinton’s former mistress, Gennifer Flowers, to be his guest.

On Sunday the New York Times endorsed Hillary Clinton.

Bitter GOP rival, US Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) endorsed Donald Trump on Friday.
