Tuesday, August 16, 2016, the Alabama Republican Party announced that Friday, August the 19th is the last day to buy tickets to its summer gala and convention in Huntsville on Saturday, August 27.

The State Republican Executive Committee will gather for their biannual meeting in Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday, August 27, 2016. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the Von Braun Convention Center. The ALGOP has one of the largest state parties in the nation with over 440 members.

Republican Party Chairman Terry Lathan said, “The Alabama Republican Party recognizes the importance of North Alabama in our electoral process. For the first time in over ten years, I am excited to bring the ALGOP meeting and dinner to the Rocket City. We honor and value our friends in North Alabama.”

The Alabama Republican Party promises to continue the theme from this summer’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland and will feature several guest speakers during a dinner for over 600 Republicans around the state. ALGOP will honor our nation’s first responders for their selfless dedication to our citizens’ safety. Scheduled special guests include, US Senator Jeff Sessions, Congressman Mo Brooks, Republican National Committee Co-Chairman Sharon Day and Matt Pinnell, RNC State Party Director.

Republicans hope to take the presidency while maintain control of the US Senate and US House of Representatives.

Recent polling however has shown that the GOP ticket of Donald Trump and Governor Mike Pence is not resonating with voters as well as the GOP would like. The party needs to motivate its core voters to come out in numbers on November 8.
