Rep. Says Lyin’ Bentley Should Come Clean

MONTGOMERY—Like a bulldog on his leg, or a thorn in his side, Rep. Johnny Mack Morrow (D-Red Bay) is once again asking Gov. Robert Bentley to “fess up.”

Taking a page from Republican Presidential front runner, Donald Trump, who has called his chief rival, “Lyin’ Ted,” Rep. Morrow calls Bentley, “Lyin’ Alabama Governor.” In a letter sent to Bentley on April 26, Morrow asks Bentley, “What lies have you told?” Morrow goes on to list at least 11 lies he believes Bentley has told including, “no new taxes,” “closing rural driver’s license offices,” “ABC stores,” and “parks,” just to name a few.

He also accuses Bentley of  lying, “to your family, your friends, and to the Citizens of the State of Alabama about your affair with Rebekah Caldwell Mason. You continue to lie everyday, as you make statements about this affair. You even fired your now ex-friend because he refused to lie. You lied about the pay raises for your Cabinet and Staff, and you lied about your wallet and the helicopter’s flight.”

He also takes Bentley to task over his proposed $800 million prison construction bill saying, “So now, ‘Lying Alabama Governor,’ the people in HD18 are telling me this when I ask how should I vote on your proposed $800 million Prison Bill: THE $50 MILLION ANNUAL SAVINGS IS ANOTHER LIE. The truth is that next year at this time, the Alabama Legislature will be trying to come up with the $50 million needed for the debt service when the savings has not occurred!”

In a previous letter, Morrow asked Bentley about his secretary Wanda’s desk, which was moved ostensibly to allow the love birds, Bentley, and his senior advisor, Rebekah Caldwell Mason, more privacy to do whatever they did “the last time.”

Morrow wrote, ”Wanda’s desk would be in Wanda’s office, which would be next to your office in the State Capitol. This is the People’s business in the people’s Capitol and they have a right to know!!

“What were you and Rebekah Caldwell Mason doing that would require that Wanda’s desk be moved and the door locked?”

John Archibald penned a stinging column about the letter…

and comedian John Oliver slammed Bentley in a rant about Wanda’s desk bringing the whole silly affair to the nation.

Morrow ends the letter by saying, “If anyone ever needed to turn their life around and stop lying, it is you, and you can start by answering the question in my letter that I sent you last week: ‘What were you and Rebekah Caldwell Mason doing that required that Wanda’s desk be moved and that the door be locked?’  The people of the State of Alabama are waiting for your answer!!!”
