The Alabama Republican Party State Executive Committee will gather for their biannual meeting in Mobile, Alabama this Saturday, February 27, 2016. The meeting will be held at the Arthur Outlaw Convention Center. The meeting is open to the public.
Later that evening, the Alabama Republican Party will host a reception and dinner for over 700 Republicans from around the state. The Party will salute the nation’s veterans and active military. Alabama Governor Robert Bentley (R), US Senator Richard Shelby (R), US Senator Jeff Sessions (R) and members of the United States Congress will be in attendance at the evening event.
The keynote speaker for the dinner is Mark “Oz” Geist. Geist was a member of the Annex Security Team that fought in the Benghazi terrorist attack at the United States Embassy on September 11, 2012. He is a co-author of the bestselling book 13 Hours, which was made into a major motion picture ‘13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.’ Mark and his team are credited with saving over 25 American lives during the attack.
Alabama Republican Party Chairman Terry M. Lathan announced, “Friends: we just keep getting bigger! Join us in Mobile on Feb 27 as we welcome “13 Hours” special ops Benghazi author Mark “Oz” Geist. Now we have word that former presidential candidate and US Senator Rick Santorum will join us. And of course we will have a bald eagle- come meet “Spirit”.”

Alabama National Committeeman Paul Reynolds is being challenged by cosmetic surgeon Edward Gaylon McCullough. Reynolds said in a statement, “It has been my pleasure to serve the last 7 years as Alabama’s National Committeeman to the Republican National Committee. I am announcing today that I am seeking re-election. I would appreciate the support and vote of every member of the Alabama Republican Party State Executive Committee.”
