Republican Winter Dinner

By Brandon Moseley
Alabama Political Reporter

The Republican Party announced on Friday that U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (R) from Alabama will be the featured speaker at the Republican Party’s annual Winter Dinner.

Sen. Sessions will update the gathered Republicans on what is happening in Washington and the Alabama GOP will honor U.S. Representatives Spencer Bachus (R) from Vestavia and Jo Bonner (R) from Mobile for their service to Alabama and the nation.

Sen. Jefferson “Jeff” Beauregard Sessions is the Ranking Member on the Senate Budget Committee and is a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Representative Bonner resigned from his First Congressional District seat in August to take a position with the University of Alabama system. Bonner was elected to six consecutive terms in the U.S. Congress.

Representative Spencer Bachus has served Alabama for eleven terms in the United States Congress and has announced that he will retire when this term ends at the end of this year.  Before his career in Congress, Bachus served the people of Alabama in the State Senate and on the State School Board.

The fund raising dinner will be held in Montgomery on February 21, 2014 at the Renaissance Hotel. The Round Table will be at 5:00 p.m. A reception will be held at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will follow at 7:00 p.m. The Alabama Republican Party will hold their bi-annual ALGOP State Executive Committee meeting that following Saturday.

In August 2013, over 900 Republican activists, elected officials, candidates, and major donors attended.  The Alabama Republican Party wrote: “We anticipate the 2014 Leadership Salute to be even more popular as we prepare for the 2014 elections.”

Dinner sponsorships are reportedly still available from $1,500 to $10,000 and include: recognition throughout the weekend, reserved tables of eight, tickets to the Insiders’ Roundtable and VIP reception, and booth space in the pre-function area for campaign literature.

Individual tickets may also be purchased for $150.  Quantities are limited.
