Lt. Governor Kay Ivey Joins National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus

Staff Report

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (June 11, 2013) – Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey joined a national effort to recruit and organize pro-life women in state legislatures and statewide offices. The National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus, organized by the Susan B. Anthony List, launched Monday.

Lieutenant Governor Ivey serves on the initial leadership team along with Gov. Jan Brewer (AZ), Gov. Mary Fallin (OK), Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann (IN), Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (WI), Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds (IA), and Atty. Gen. Pam Bondi (FL).

More than twenty state legislators from across the country, including Alabama State Rep. Terri Collins (R-District 8) and Rep. Mary Sue McClurkin (R-District 43), are also part of the leadership team.

The goal of the National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus is to foster community between pro-life women lawmakers across the country and connect them with the resources they need to pass pro-life laws.

“I am pleased to join other leaders from across the nation in this effort to advance pro-life issues. Alabama continues to be a leader in promoting a strong pro-life agenda and I am proud to champion this issue on a national level,” said Lieutenant Governor Ivey.

This effort will complement the existing Congressional Pro-Life Women’s Caucus.
