New gun controls are likely coming and the Obama administration may not wait for Congress to pass his agenda to erode Americans’ second amendment rights.
According to reporting by ‘The Hill,’ Vice President Joe Biden (D) said to a gathering of anti-gun activists, “The president is going to act. There are executive orders, executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet, but we’re compiling it all.” I want to make clear that we’re not going to get caught up in the notion that, unless we can do everything, we’re going to do nothing,” Biden said. “It’s critically important we act.”
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) from California is leading efforts in the Congress to severely restrict what weapons Americans will be allowed to own. Sen. Feinstein said, “As I have said many times before—and now repeat in the wake of yet another tragedy—weapons of war don’t belong on our streets or in our theaters, shopping malls and, most of all, our schools.”
President Barack H. Obama (D) said, “I’ve asked the Vice President to lead an effort that includes members of my Cabinet and outside organizations to come up with a set of concrete proposals no later than January — proposals that I then intend to push without delay. This is not some Washington commission. This is not something where folks are going to be studying the issue for six months and publishing a report that gets read and then pushed aside. This is a team that has a very specific task, to pull together real reforms right now.”
National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) Executive Vice President, Dudley Brown said, “As Second Amendment activists we MUST be vigilant in these times — not just in the defense of our loved ones, but in defense of our right to keep and bear arms. Gun grabbers seize upon every outrage and crime, so we must always be prepared to fight back to protect our Second Amendment rights.”
Meanwhile more extreme elements in the gun community are talking about what they will do IF Obama and his allies begin gun seizures.
Conservative Blogger Dean Garrison wrote,” “If they come for our guns then it is our constitutional right to put them six feet under. You have the right to kill any representative of this government who tries to tread on your liberty.”
Former Republican Presidential candidate Pat Buchanon warned, “’There would be a revolution in this country!” if the U.S. Government tried to ban firearms.
Garrison wrote, “This country was built on the right to bear arms. It was built on the rights of an individual to bear arms, regardless of what his government or neighbor happened to think.” “I am not trying to start a Revolt, I am talking about self-defense. If the day for Revolution comes, when no peaceful options exist, we may have to talk about that as well.”
