From the Office of Minority Leader Rep. Craig Ford
Montgomery, AL – The Minority Leader in the Alabama House of Representatives, Rep. Craig Ford (D-Gadsden), announced this morning that Rep. Joe Hubbard (D- Montgomery) has been named by the leadership of the House Democratic Caucus as the “Member of the Month” for the month of August. Rep. Ford said that Rep. Hubbard was chosen because of his passion for Alabama’s working families and his commitment to the people of Montgomery.
“Working families and small businesses are at the core of our Democratic values,” said Rep. Ford. “Rep. Joe Hubbard’s commitment to these families and local businesses are why we are proud to name him this month’s Member of the Month.”
Rep. Hubbard has served in the state House of Representatives since 2010. That year, he was the only Democrat to defeat an incumbent Republican in a legislative election. Rep. Hubbard has also served on the House Democratic Caucus’ Policy Committee and as a Caucus “whip.”
“To be recognized as ‘Member of the Month’ from my colleagues – for whom I have the upmost respect and admiration – is truly an honor that I do not take lightly,” said Rep. Hubbard. “I am truly happy to receive this recognition.”
